1. Overview
Kissy helps you keep relationship memories, notes, answers, and photos in a couple space. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use the app and its online services.
2. Information You Provide
When you use Kissy, you may provide information directly to us, including:
- Account Information: Your email address, sign-in credentials, nickname, partner code, avatar, and relationship profile details.
- Couple Content: Memories, diary notes, milestone entries, chat messages, answers to couple questions (Q&A), photos, and tagged locations.
- Support Communications: Feedback, problem reports, and communications sent to our customer support team.
3. Account Sign-In & Authentication
We support Sign in with Apple and Email Sign-in. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive only the identifiers and email address authorized by Apple (including Apple's private relay address). If you register using your email, we use your email to authenticate you, keep your account secure, and deliver critical service communications.
4. Device Permissions
Kissy may request the following permissions:
- Camera: To take photos for messages or memories.
- Photo Library: To select images for your profile, messages, and memories.
- Location: To add a place to a message or memory. We do not request background location access or use these place tags for advertising.
- Push Notifications: To deliver notifications and service updates.
- App Tracking Transparency: To use the advertising identifier for advertising measurement with your permission. Denying this permission does not prevent you from using Kissy.
You can change camera, photo, location, and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Manage tracking permission in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
5. Local Device Storage & Couple Data Model
Couple-space messages, memories, photos, and answers are stored on this device for the signed-in account. Signing out keeps this local content; signing in on another device does not automatically download it. Uninstalling the app may remove local content. Account information is processed by our online services. When you share an invitation, it includes your nickname, profile identifier, and avatar or avatar link so the recipient can identify you. Only share invitations with people you trust.
6. Device, Technical, and Diagnostic Data
We and our SDK providers may process device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, device and SDK identifiers, push notification tokens, app activity, and attribution information. These identifiers are not necessarily anonymous. With tracking permission, advertising services may also access the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA).
7. How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate sign-in, and maintain profiles.
- Save and display your content, support invitations, and provide the features you choose to use.
- Deliver notifications and service updates.
- Maintain security, detect abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve the service.
- Measure app usage and advertising performance, including which campaigns lead to installs or app activity. Uses that require tracking permission are subject to your App Tracking Transparency choice.
- Respond to support and privacy requests and meet legal obligations.
8. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information with providers that support authentication, hosting, push notifications, and advertising measurement:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
- Google Firebase: App infrastructure and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Adjust: Install attribution and campaign measurement using device, SDK, app activity, and attribution data.
- Meta (Facebook SDK): App events and advertising measurement using device and app activity data, and the advertising identifier when authorized.
If you deny tracking permission, we disable Facebook advertiser tracking and advertising identifier collection. Adjust may continue processing SDK identifiers and attribution data; denying tracking permission does not disable all analytics or SDK activity. We require providers to protect personal information consistently with this policy and applicable requirements. We may also disclose information when required by law or with your consent.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, protect security, and meet legal obligations. To delete your account, open Profile > Delete account and confirm. This initiates deletion of your account and removes this device's active and archived couple spaces, past Q&A, and related photos. Deletion cannot retract invitations or copies already received on other devices. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete your online account. For other data deletion or privacy requests, contact support@kissy.app.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the European Union under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have specific statutory rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to access and receive a copy of your personal data.
- The right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to request erasure of your data.
- The right to restrict or object to certain processing activities.
- The right to data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@kissy.app.
11. Security Safeguards
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, please note that no electronic transmission or storage method is 100% immune to risk.
12. Age Eligibility and Children's Privacy
Kissy is intended for users who are at least 17 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove the data.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material modifications, we will notify you through the app or by revising the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Kissy following notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
